Our Mission
The GetKidsSafe initiative is a multifaceted community awareness program aimed at getting tools and information into the hands of parents, educators, law enforcement officers and civic leaders that will aid them in the fight to protect our kids from cyber predators. Along with the distribution of these resources, GKS will provide a variety of educational services through the ongoing development of our dynamic web environment, GetKidsSafe.com. GKS provides parents with a virtual tool box that will grow along with the changing face of the internet.
The internet offers its users a world of exploration, adventure, knowledge and helpful recourses. It also presents a playground of opportunities for predators, scam artists, and those who would exploit the unguarded curiosities of innocent children. Their treacherous schemes and advances have turned this world of adventure into a war zone for the hearts and minds of those we are responsible to protect.
For years parents have had access to web sites, literature, seminars and countless other information sources offering direction in their fight against dangerous internet influences. Yet, while well intended and somewhat helpful, these informants leave most parents asking for a more direct solution.
Now there is a tool!
GetKidsSafe is introducing a software tool that will inform you of your child’s internet activities. Should a predator attempt to contact your child, you will know. When your child wanders onto a site that does not meet your parental approval, you will know. GetKidsSafe allows you to be the wise gatekeeper of your child’s internet access that you desire to be.
